Sunshine is a Daisy Girl Scout. There are 14 girls in our troop right now and she's met some amazing girls. It's turning out to be a lot of work/stress for me, but tons of fun for her. I've learned which girls I would rather her NOT become close friends with, based on what I know about their parents now. Some kids are allowed to do a bit more than our kids are. Some parents think certain things are more appropriate than we do. So that's been a great benefit.

Her best little friend, Abbie, is in our troop. They're not in the same class, but they met on the playground during Kindergarten recess and it was love at first sight. Abbie's mom is one of my assistant leaders, so it's one big happy family now. Her other good friend, Taylor, is also in our troop and HER mom is also one of my assistant leaders. It's funny how that worked out. Honestly, we dont know each other and our girls had never met when we each signed up this summer.

Our little Daisies talk, do crafts, chat, sing songs, gab, and visit the Alzeimer's home every other month. It's good fun for everyone. In the first photo, Sunshine and her friends are chilling after making Christmas ornaments for the residents at the Senior Home we visit. The following meeting, we went to the Senior Home, sang carols, and passed out the ornaments.



In the second photo, Sunshine is presenting her ALL ABOUT ME mobile to the troop. The girls had to draw and label something about themself, one of their talents and what they dream of becoming or achieving. Sunshine was confident, spoke clearly and did a great job. FYI - she dreams of owning a hair salon with her Aunt Johnna. More on that later.
