vicarious fame

My life has been full of brushes with fame (*cough*) and it's happened again.

Don has been to a great burger place downtown with friends from work. He wouldnt stop talking about it, so eventually I gave in and listened to him =) Though he raved about the food, he also thought it was a fun place. Instead of getting a number or giving your name when you order, you're given a card with a movie title, name of actor/actress, or a line from a film. When your food is ready, they say a clue over the mike that relates to the info on your card.
We were downtown sightseeing with my mom and sister and thought we'd stop by and grab lunch. There was a sign on the door that said the restaurant was closing early the next day because they were being featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives," one of my favorite FN shows. So that makes me kinda famous, right? Or at least my burger.

Regardless, we loved the onion strings and in honor of my favorite dish ever, we're naming our next child "Deep Fried Pickle." They were soooooooo good. Yummo~! If you're ever in town, we're taking you and taking you early. We got there about 10 minutes after they opened and the line was almost out of the door by then.
And your eyes do not deceive you. That's my mom WITH hair.

  1. Ok, who is that tired old woman sitting next to the cutie? She looks tired, but happy. I will vouch for the pickles. They were absolutely delicious.

  2. You look great, Mom! And you look tired because we WERE tired.

Amy - We'll have to go together. It's sooooo much fun and super yummy. It's over by the kiddie museum, so we could go this summer!
