*a photo of our own backyard prairie grass*
I'm still reading the Little House books to the kids in preparation for our vacation to the Ingalls homestead this summer. The kids are really connecting to them, especially Sunshine.
This afternoon, while we were watching the long grass blow in the wind, Sunshine said, "It's like the prairie grass in Kansas, isn't it Mom?" It's funny, because when we first moved here, our house was on the last street developed and all around us were large open fields. So when the wind blew, it really blew us. And my dad called us "The Little House on the Prairie."
Then tonight, I read about a special dinner of stewed rabbit the Ingalls had when Mr. Edwards helped them build their log house. Sunshine said, "We could just stew our rabbits too and then they wouldnt eat our garden."
Books are so educational =)
Don't let Don cook a meal anytime soon. The two of them might rid you of the bunny menace. And what a nice chubby bunny after eating all your vegetables.
ReplyDeleteThat's excellent. That bunny better be afraid!
