a may day fete

I organized a May Day Celebration this year.

My beloved "worked from home" that day to help me construct a May Pole on a tree at the park.

He spent the rest of the morning standing off to the side with his good friend (a SWAT officer whose wife had made him go, too) in awe at the 80-some home schoolers who showed up to create flower crowns, dance the May Pole, crown our first May Queen, listen to Greensleeves played on the guitar, and make paper cone flower posies.

Sweet Don wasn't raised by hippies.  He was so confused.
But the children and I had a lovely time.
It was so nice to remember my Druid roots.  Thank you, Carden Conservatory.
