While in California, we bought passes to the Aquarium of the Pacific. It's our favorite aquarium in the whole country. It's fanTABulous. It was nice to be there while school was in session, because we were able to avoid crowds and have one on one time with the docents.
One of the touch tanks held bat rays, which look remarkably like night furies from How To Train a Dragon. One of the rays was born without a tail and the children dubbed him "Toothless."
It was love at first sight.
He liked his back to be tickled and would lift his little head out of the water when they did it. When he swam by them, he would lift one of his flippers at them and wave.
Scott was deathly afraid of the touch tanks, until he met Toothless. Then, he couldn't get enough of it.
