felicity's beefsteak pie

Sunshine is in an American Girl History club. For the past few months, she's been studying Felicity. At a recent meeting, they each had to bring a recipe (chosen by the teachers at random) from the Felicity Cookbook, a companion piece to the Felicity chapter books.
Sunshine was assigned to bring a beefsteak pie. Y'all know how much I love (hate) gnawing on flesh, so this was a hard recipe for me to embrace. But it turned out super yummy. It would have been better with some veggies, but Sunshine was committed to following that recipe.


The pie she is holding in this photo does have veggies in it. We made tiny beefsteak tartlets for the 23 girls in her club and one pie (with veggies in it) for our family.
